J.v.Egmond & zn is already for more than 20 years in the selection and multiplication of young plants from seeds and tissue culture. Each year we raise more than 75 million plants for growers in the Netherlands and abroad. We grow in our greenhouses Lisianthus(Eustoma), Statice(Limonium) and different perennials. We are an independent family company. We have a staff of fifteen to achieve the best quality young plant. Our lines of communications are short and we are aware of the wishes of our customers.

Our company is located in Rijnsburg. We have more than 2 hectare of greenhouses divided in different departments so that each crop gets his special requirements. We also have 2.000 m2 research and development greenhouse. Every year we invite our customers to see our trials. We keep you update on this web site when this will take place.

Since 2003 we select the plants of Lisanthus one week before delivery. We have designed a special machine for this called Selecto-mat. Every single plant will be filmed by a camera where by based on length and leaf area it will be put in one of our 3 selections. Every plant which does not fit in to our selections will be thrown away. The advantages of selected plants are faster planting, even growth, shorter harvest period, faster grading, even branches, less waste, shorter growing period all together only benefits.

Apart from raising the young plants we also support the growers during the time of growing. Our representatives are aware of the latest developments of the industry. Each grower has his own specialities, his own soil, climate, greenhouse and on. Our representatives will go together with the grower for the best results.
